Newly appointed assistant coach Thulani Sibanda will be in the dugout on Sunday afternoon when Bulawayo Chiefs take on Mhondoro-based outfit Ngezi Platinum at Luveve Stadium.
An epic fixture looms ahead as both teams have recently reshuffled their technical side, with Bulawayo Chiefs hoping to revive their Premier League campaign.
The Ninjas had a bright start to the campaign but have been recently hit by a string of poor results, with fans calling out for positive results after the club had a fruitful transfer window.
Sibanda’s appointment comes after the club released a press statement on Tuesday morning stating that it “has mutually agreed to part ways with assistant coaches Mark Mathe and Farai Tawachera.”
Thulani “Toots” Sibanda went straight to business and started conducting training at Luveve Arena on Tuesday afternoon in the absence of Portuguese head coach Nilton Terroso.
Toots will be hoping to select his matchday squad from a large pool of players, with Perfect Chikwende available for selection having served his two match suspension. Mthokozisisi Msebe is also in contention after recovering from an injury. Sipho Ndlovu is on his way to recovery as he returned to training this week.
Former Warriors captain Benjani Mwaruwari will be hoping to make his way to the city of Kings and Queens for his first assignment against the Ninjas after being unveiled as the new Ngezi Platinum FC head coach on Tuesday.
Three points will be at stake on Sunday as both teams registered losses in their last fixtures.
Bulawayo Chiefs vs Ngezi Platinum kick-off at 3pm.
