Bulawayo Chiefs will be looking to redeem themselves when they take on Manica Diamonds at Sakubva Stadium in a Castle Lager Premier Soccer League match on Sunday afternoon.

This will be the second visit of the season for Chiefs to Mutare who saw their maiden visit to Sakubva being a 2-1 loss to Black Rhinos.

Amakhosi Amahle will be seeking their first win in seven matches when they take on the surprise title contenders Manica Diamonds.

After collecting just three of the possible twenty-one points, Chiefs have seen themselves descending to position twelve on the PSL log standings. Meanwhile, their Sunday opponents are enjoying their dream start of the season with nineteen points, just four points adrift of the log pacesetters Chicken Inn.

But Terroso who has done it all over the globe as well as the football culture still backs up his side to put their season back on track, despite the recent rough patch that his side has experienced.

He acknowledged how tough the Manica Diamonds encounter will be and admitted how the stern test awaits his team when they travel to Mutare.

“We have prepared a few different approaches in terms of the strategies that we will look to utilise on Sunday against Manica and today will be the final training session” said Terroso.

Chiefs have failed to keep clean sheets in the past three games and have regularly conceded goals that have seen them dropping points. Terroso revealed how costly this has been to the team as they have given away very crucial points.

“In these last two games both times we have been leading and we have given points away. Against Black Rhinos we were leading 2-1 and now winning one nil and conceding a goal in the 84th minute, so those are the things we need to improve on” added Terroso.

The squad will be boosted by their never die attitude as they are still grouped together with one vision despite being against the wall in recent weeks.

The coach said that the past few weeks are not something that has caused a divide in the team or something that where the team has lost belief but it’s a phase they know that they will pass together as a team.

Only the blades of grass of Sakubva Stadium know what the outcome of the Sunday’s encounter will be between the two teams that will be battling it out for the three points at stake.
